“ Great spot! I got to try this place out during restaurant week where they were doing the 3-course meals. Parking is rough because you're downtown, and the restaurant is inside the Hilton. The food is definitely on the pricey side and some of the portions are very small. The empanada appetizer and the steak tartare were very small. The shrimp in tomato sauce was okay. I loved the tartare, but I wish it was a bigger portion. My entree was a skirt steak which was well-sized and also delicious. Dessert is my weakness, and that chocolate mouse covered in a chocolate shell with a little ice cream on top and a pomegranate sauce was DIVINE! This is one of the best desserts I've had in my entire life - thank you! ”

Too many to count, but let me try: • Katsu Chicken & Waffles from “The Brunch Corner” blew my mind – crispy, tender chicken paired with miso maple syrup and spicy kewpie mayo. An unexpected and unforgettable twist on a classic. • The Sixty South Salmon with Miso Glaze was buttery, rich, and cooked to perfection. • The Wagyu Tenderloin was perfectly medium rare with a velvety texture that melted in your mouth. And the mimosas? Even those were the right ratio of bubbles to juice – keeping the vibe celebratory but classy. Every station – from the sushi and oysters at the Seafood Station to the bone marrow whipped potatoes at the Hot Table – offered something thoughtfully curated and flawlessly executed. Whether it’s a special occasion or you’re just looking to treat yourself, FYR doesn’t miss. The atmosphere, the menu, the staff – every detail is dialed in. “ I took my brother to FYR in the Short North for his birthday, and we had an amazing time. We ordered the tomahawk, the branzino (which was perfectly cooked), the potatoes, and the carrots. I also had a couple of drinks, and everything was exceptional. The presentation of the food wasn’t just impressive—it actually made the whole experience even more memorable. We went on a weekday around 5:30 p.m., and it was quiet when we arrived, which allowed us to really enjoy the atmosphere. One of the highlights was the lovely blonde manager who came over to check on us—she was extremely pleasant and made us feel so welcome. My brother told me it was the best day he’s ever had, and after eating at multiple places, I might have to agree with him. Highly recommend FYR if you’re looking for a great dining experience in Columbus. This place is a gem. ”

Perfect time to finally try FYR. Like Stories on High (see my google review), FYR is located in the newer Hilton tower in downtown Cols albeit in the ground floor instead of the 28th floor. And like Stories, FYR is exceptional (both ambiance and food) and such a great addition to the fine restaurants here. Chef La Rocca was kind enough to spend time with us to talk about the past and future plans, as well as suggest what dishes best represent FYR. “ Stayed at the Hilton and thought I'd try the hotel restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. I sat at the bar and had some great conversation with the bartender. They always have great skills. The food was good. Double smash burger and fries, with an Arnold Palmer. Really enjoyed the bar. ”

“ FYR offers a refined dining experience centered around (let me put this in simple terms) exquisite food. I indulged in dishes such as the Chorizo criollo (pork sausage with chimichurri) which delivered rich, smoky flavor with well-balanced spice, and the whole branzino, expertly grilled with crisp skin, tender flaky meat thoughtfully topped with crispy onions, lemon, capers, brown butter and herbs. The Caesar salad was thoughtfully composed, with a bold, anchovy-forward dressing and crisp, lightly grilled romaine, elevating a familiar classic. The steak was seared to perfection—flavorful, tender, and seasoned to highlight the quality of the cut. And that lime dressed salad on top? Must I say more. We even tossed in an order of French fries that were crisp and well-seasoned adding the perfect addition to an already well rounded meal. Now lastly, the desserts (the thing(s) we all have room for.) We ordered the corn creme brulee which offered a creative twist, combining sweetness with subtle earthiness. But the flan stood out—smooth, lightly sweet, and skillfully balanced in texture and flavor. The dulce de leche on the side allowed the dessert to cater to my super sweet palate vs my friends more savory palate. Overall, FYR delivers on both concept and execution. The focus on fire-enhanced flavor is evident across the menu, making it a compelling destination for thoughtfully crafted cuisine in Columbus. Before I end this I’d like to shout out our server Ederlyn (who was one of the best servers I’ve ever had the pleaser of being sat for.) I would also like to shout out Ian (the senior food/beverage manager who you can tell believes in this restaurant and everything that they stand for. From the food, to the music and the conversation.) Lastly to CHEF, in the words of our peers “You did your big one.” It brought tears to my eyes to see someone so confident in their food. You should be. Mind you this was all because it was my birthday and we wanted to try something new. What a joyous treat. A 10/10 experience. ”

“ Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of everything because as soon as it came out it was all devoured. We started with beef empanadas. Absolutely delicious, especially with the recommended serving suggestion of putting the accompanying sauce inside. Fresh and flavorful. I got the salmon and my boyfriend got the skirt steak. Both were amazing. Dessert was the PB&C with an espresso martini. Dessert was good with different textures & favors. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. She answered all of my questions and even gave us dessert on the house for it being date night. We will for sure be back! ”

“ Staying at the Hilton for OCHA convention. Had amazing dinner with cocktails. It was strong cocktail: white rum, lime and sugar. Had empanda appetizer. Both tasted great together. Ordered the Porterhouse served medium with cognac flame and Diane sauce. This was paired w a Cabernet. I have been to many high end steakhouses. This was best steak ever. The flavor, the temp and tenderness was amazing. Having leftovers for breakfast. My waiter was so informative and gracious. ”
